The Body Electric

by Grace Goble

Play, 3f 1m + voices

For nearly three decades, Monica Lewinsky’s story has centered the voices of her abusers. The Body Electric places Monica at the center of her own story through the myth of Medusa, exploring the vilification of feminine sexuality, victim blaming, and public shaming. This is, above all else, a play that attempts to investigate a traumatic event without causing any further harm.

About the Author

Grace Goble is an interdisciplinary artist and self-proclaimed “fun girl to hang out with” originally from the suburbs of Chicago, IL. In her work, she is inspired by feminine rage, laughter, the absurdity of the world around us, and a deep sense of the way people should be treated. She believes that everything is at least a little bit funny, unless it’s not. She strives to make people feel seen and held, only if they want to. Her goal is to set shit on fire (in the nicest way possible). Founder & Business Manager of Outside the Lines Theatre Collective. BFA, Boston University.
