About the Author

Sarah Jae Leiber is a New York-based playwright, screenwriter, dramaturg, and critic writing about and through the lens of pop culture idolatry, Jewishness, and being a weird girl. She is, crucially, from Philadelphia. Her play, PLEASE LAUGH, was a recent semifinalist for the Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference. Other playwriting credits include Grand Theft Tea Leaves (Theatre Row), the old jew who begat scrooge, on his deathbed (McCarter Theatre Center), river phoenix fugue (The Tank), The Repair Man (Muhlenberg College Mainstage), speaking strictly for me (Astoria Food Pantry), Freudian Oops (an ill-fated, COVID-cancelled production at Jewish Theatre of Bloomington), Two of Hearts (Queens Short Play Festival), and i can fix him (Dramatists Guild). Her 30-minute dramedy pilot, "Hearts and Bones," was a semifinalist in ScreenCraft's 2021 TV Pilot competition. As a critic, Sarah has written for Polygon, Bitch, Bright Wall/Dark Room, and more.
